Meet Don Hobbs
Anyone
who knows Don Hobbs well will tell you he doesn't do anything halfway.
He's is an "all or nothing" kind of guy. But once Don
shows interest in something, it quickly becomes a passion. Whether
it's fly fishing a remote mountain stream in pursuit of another
trophy rainbow trout or attending a Los Angeles Lakers game, of
whom he is an avid and lifelong fan, Don's passionate approach to
life is evident from afar. That passion is also what's made him
one of the most highly respected figures in North America on the
topic of real estate marketing.
Don's career path began straight out of high
school as a salesperson with Jim Rohn Productions, where his public
speaking skills propelled him through the ranks, earning the title
of Executive Vice President within four years. In this role Don
was responsible for promoting and selling personal development and
leadership development seminars to real estate agents, as well as
training and overseeing an entire sales force.
One of Don's favorite hobbies is fly-fishing.
His journeys to fulfill this passion have taken him from the great
white north of Canada all the way to the opposite hemisphere in
Chile and all points in between.
After eight productive years with Jim Rohn, Don
joined forces with Greg Herder to launch Hobbs/Herder. This dynamic
partnership has gone on to have an incredibly positive impact on
thousands of real estate careers over the years.
During the past quarter century, Don has spoken
to more than 500,000 real estate professionals, striving to help
each one reach their true full potential. Today, as passionate as
ever about his mission, Don still speaks to thousands of agents
annually, sharing his ideas and proven marketing concepts. He has
appeared in countless articles in a variety of publications, including
The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times and his articles have appeared in Broker Agent News, Texas Realtor® and New Jersey Realtor®.
Anyone who knows Don knows of his passion
for the L.A. Lakers. As an avid collector of signed sports memorabilia,
Don counts more than 100 different autographed Lakers collectibles
among his vast collection.
Don lives in Orange County, California with his
wife Barbara and enjoys time with family especially his three granddaughters.
In addition to his passion for fly fishing and his love for the
Lakers, he’s a collector of art as well as sports and music/film
memorabilia.
Meet Greg Herder
Greg
Herder may not have taken the most traditional route to success,
but his innovative thinking has always positioned him as a leader
in whatever endeavor he pursues. As a Marine stationed in El Toro,
California in the 1970s, Greg decided to pursue his real estate
license in his spare time. Having earned his license, he quickly
developed an intense passion for marketing, studying the subject
relentlessly, reading every marketing and advertising book imaginable
and applying the learned techniques to his real estate career.
This forward-thinking approach made Greg one
of the first real estate professionals to practice marketing techniques
that focused on promoting himself, not the homes he was selling.
His real estate career spanned general sales, management and ownership,
but Greg soon found his marketing expertise pulling him in a new
direction. Once other agents began to regularly inquire about the
possibility of Greg creating marketing campaigns for their businesses,
Greg decided to pursue his passion and joined forces with Don Hobbs
to open the doors of Hobbs/Herder in 1986.
After more than 20 years in the real estate
industry, Greg is still passionate about the benefits of personal
marketing on your career as well as your standard of living.
As the company's Chief Executive Officer, Greg
has had an incredibly positive impact on thousands of real estate
careers over the years. He has personally consulted with and designed
the marketing/advertising campaigns of many top agents in the nation.
He's also written books, manuals, articles, critiques, seminars
and other programs on the subject, as well as having consulted with
many of the industry's top agents and companies.
Greg earned his MBA from the University of California
Irvine and holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from California
State University, Fullerton, graduating cum laude.
Greg continues to educate real estate agents
and managers throughout North America about the wondrous powers
of personal marketing. His personal emphasis on the Internet and
innovative technologies ensures that he'll be on the cutting edge
of real estate marketing systems and strategies for years to come.
An avid outdoorsman, Greg practices what
he recommends to real estate professionals. He takes at least
one day a week and one 3-day weekend a month with just his family
as they travel, hike or ride bicycles.
Greg has written numerous articles in a variety
of publications, including REALTOR Magazine, Real Estate Business,
WCR Connections, Florida Realtor® and Texas Realtor®. He also authored
the innovative "How-to" manual, Satisfaction Guarantee—100%
Satisfaction Guaranteed or Your Money Back, which ushered this unique
concept into the world of real estate service.
Greg's personal pursuits include bicycling with
his wife, Janet, former President of Hobbs/Herder, and spending
time with family--three sons and two grandchildren. Like his partner
Don, Greg calls Orange County home and is also an avid L.A. Lakers fan as well as a collector
of Michael Jordan memorabilia.
